Do you provide training for new members?	No, we are not a training provider but we can support new members through mentoring by other experienced members. Please see our Learning Page
Do I need to have done woodworking before to join the shed?	No, you do not need woodworking skills. It may easier for you if you have done practical activities in the past but it is not a necessity.
What kind of projects can I get involved with?	It's really up to you. You could participate in one of our big build community projects, you could create craft items for fairs or you could work on your own project.
What Equipment do you have?	We have a good range of equipment which includes some large machines as well as powered hand tools. We can handle most projects.
I have disabilities can I still become a member?	Yes, we welcome members of all abilities. Please see our membership page for more information.
I don't drink tea or eat biscuits, can I still become a member?	We can't understand it, but yes, you can still become a member.
Can women join the mens shed?	They certainly can, whilst our primary aim is to support men we are very happy to welcome women to the shed.
How old do I have to be to join?	You must be at least 18.
What should I wear for the shed?	Some sensible clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Please avoid clothing that is to loose. We would prefer you to wear safety footwear if you have it. If you become a member safety footwear will be compulsory.
Do you accept donations of tools or equipment?	We are grateful for all offers of donated materials or equipment, but can only accept items that we are able to use – please contact us in advance to arrange drop-off of any donation
Can I just come to the cafe?	No sorry, our little cafe is for members only.
Can you supply wood for my personal project?	Yes we can supply some wood to members only (no commercial sales). Members are usually asked to make an additional contribution to the shed when we supply them with materials.
What equipment do I need to bring?	Nothing, we have everything you need to get started at the shed.
