My Shed Journey

I lost my wife suddenly back in 2021 shortly after we moved to Derbyshire.  I found myself to be a widow in a location where I didnt know many people. Everyone has struggles in one way or another, but I knew I had to keep going.  I heard about the Men’s Shed and thought it would be a good way to meet new people and possibly make some new friends.

The shed has been very good for me. I have learned new skills and enjoy taking part in shed community build projects. I enjoy shed event days, helping young makers, seeing their faces light up when they have built a bird box is just great.

The social aspect of the shed is important to me. We always have a good laugh when we stop for tea and biscuits,  bacon rolls or go on evenings out with the Carvery Club.

Being a member of the Shed Management Team, working to support the shed, to ensure its ongoing success and its ability to help others in the future is very rewarding.

I am very happy to be part of the shed family.

See you soon.
