My Shed Journey

I have always been an active person. I try to go walking everyday come rain or shine,  When my wife became ill I became her full time carer, which I don't mind for a second, but it does mean that I spend more time indoors. My son saw some information about the Men's Shed online and suggested that it may be a good thing for me to try. So I gave it a go whilst my grown up children took care of my wife. I soon found that I really enjoyed coming to the shed.

I usually work in the outdoor workspace at the shed with a regular group who all enjoy working outside. We call ourselves the A Team because it winds some other Shedder up, but it is only a bit of fun. We work together to make outdoor items like planters, seating and trellis which are all sold to help fund the shed.

I was 85 when I started my shed journey. Now 88 I am the oldest member of the shed. If I can do it, you can too, don't let your age hold you back.

Keep moving,

Swanwick Men's Shed Shedder - Michael
