Fees

Our annual membership fee is just £12, we also ask for attendance subscriptions of £1.50 on weekdays and £3 on Saturdays.

Considerations before joining

Swanwick Men's Shed is an inclusive environment. We do our very best to facilitate everyone who wishes to join the shed, to help you decide if the shed is a good fit for you we have prepared a simple guide to some of the things that you may wish consider in the table below.

Shed Environment

The shed environment includes small ramps, steps and some slightly uneven ground around the farm site. Space is limited within the shed itself. Please consider if you have enough mobility to move around safely in this type of environment. Safe movement may includes the use of walking aids such as sticks or walking frames.

Memory

We all forget things from time to time, this is not a problem, and it shouldn't stop you from joining the shed. it is important that you can remember instructions for the safe use of machinery and equipment at the shed so that you don't put yourself or others in danger. 

Manual Dexterity

To get the most of the shed you will want to use our tools and equipment. Could you use hand tools safely with regularly losing control of them.

Individual Behaviour

We are a friendly group at the shed and we enjoy some banter between members. This may be something the you miss about the workplace, if this is the case we have got you covered. We do not however, tolerate violence or aggression in any form.

We acknowledge that some unacceptable language may be involuntary due to medical conditions and we make allowances for this as necessary.
