My Shed Journey

I was already member of the Men's Shed when I lost my wife Pat at Christmas 2022 this was a very dark time for me, there were times when i didn't think I could carry on. My family helped me deal with my bereavement of course, but I also had help and support from my extended family at the shed. I dread to think what might have happened were it not for the support I received. But, as most people say, it does start to get easier over time.

The shed is a big part of my life, being involved in the management of the shed helps keep my mind occupied, this combined with everyday shed activity gives me a tremendous sense of wellbeing.

I am now also part of the Management Team that is working hard to get Eastwood Shed up and running. Men’s Sheds are really good for me, so much so that I am a member of two of them.

All the best,

Swanwick Men's Shed Shedder - George
