History

Planning for the shed started at Christmas 2015 when the concept was proposed by Valley CIDS who operate an educational establishment at Turner's Farm Project Charity no. 1123173. They provided a brand new shed for our use. The shed is a not-for-profit organisation with its own constitution and budget within the charity.

Swanwick Men’s Shed is the first of its kind in Derbyshire and is located on a 48-acre farm dating back to 1740, between Alfreton and Ripley in Amber Valley.

Since that time Swanwick Mens Shed has gone from strength to strength impacting upon peoples lives through meaningfull activity and social engagement.
