My Shed Journey
I like to keep busy, and I like meeting new people. I live on my own so I feel that it is very important for me to get out of the house. I was browsing the local Voice Magazine when I saw an article about the Men's Shed. I got in touch with the shed and was pleased to hear that they welcomed women to the group. Four years later and I am really happy to be part of the shed. I have gone from complete woodworking novice to being able to use most of the machinery and equipment at the shed, which is quite satisfying.
One of my favourite shed activities is taking part in shed event activities like Making Workshops or craft fairs where we me lots of new people.
There are a few ladies at the shed now, so if you are a woman reading this, don't let the Men's Shed title put you off, yes it is aimed primarily at men, but I can honestly say that women are very welcome.
