Learning

Starting from Scratch
So you are thinking of joining the shed, but don't have much woodworking experience. Don't worry about this, many of our new members start in this position. You can start by helping us with one of our many community projects, there will always be someone on hand to help and guide you on what to do.

Support Not Training
We support members through guidance and mentoring by the Shed Supervisor or by our more experienced members. You will always be responsible for your own safety at the shed. If you are not sure about something it is usually just a matter of asking.

In Your own Time
Stick at it and your skills will develop naturally over time, remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Some people may pick things up faster than others, it really doesn't matter, just go at your own pace and enjoy the learning process. The most important thing is that you enjoy the shed experience.

A simple beer bottle opener is a great first project. A simple beer bottle opener is a great first project.
